WELCOME TO THE SPRINGFIELD LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT!
In our district, results matter! Ohio Department of Education data indicate that last year the Springfield Local School District earned the impressive rating of an "A." This is the first year for the state's new system to rate its public schools. Prior to the new rating system, Springfield was one of just a few in the state to have achieved the rating of EXCELLENT WITH DISTINCTION or EXCELLENT for each of the four previous reporting periods.
Also impressive is that a few short years ago, Springfield Local Schools was one of only three organizations in northwest Ohio to achieve an Ohio Award of Excellence Tier II (Malcolm Baldrige Award criteria) distinction. It was the criteria and process - still employed today, which defines the culture of the school district. This culture, to truly involve the community in all aspects of its mission, and an integrated planning approach imbedded through the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP), ensures that the district remains connected with its students, staff, and community.
There is much to learn about Springfield Schools and even more to be proud of in this 115+ year old public school district! We are constantly listening to our web guests to add and refine information to make sure that this site meets the needs of all users!

Welcome to "Our Schools."
The education provided by the Springfield Local School District to each of our 4200+ students is exceptional - - without exception!
Academic programs include enrichment (beginning as early as kindergarten) and extend to partnerships that provide college-credit courses offered right on our high school campus. The district features four Kindergarten-Grade 5 elementary schools (Crissey, Dorr, Holland, and Holloway), Springfield Middle School (Grades 6-8) and Springfield High School (Grades 9-12).
Results matter – and data show that Springfield students continue to succeed! This is evidenced by scores that exceed Ohio Achievement Assessment/Ohio Graduation Test standards. Although the Ohio Department of Education recently changed its reporting methodology, most are familiary with the previous system where Springfield achieved the rating of “EXCELLENT With Distinction or EXCELLENT" for the past four consecutive years.
A full continuum of services for every student is guaranteed from enrollment through graduation.
